Tennessee O’Hanlon

Clarinet, Saxophone, Piano, Flute

In Dec. 2011, I graduated from CSU Sacramento with a double emphasis in Clarinet Performance and Composition.  I started piano at age 5, clarinet at age 10, and saxophone at age 13.  In high school, I went to Japan with the Monterey All Star Jazz Ensemble playing Bari Sax.  I also played Clarinet in the C.M.E.A. All State Honor Band.  In college, I played Bass Clarinet in the C.B.D.A. Western Division Intercollegiate Honor Band.  As a composer/arranger, my orchestral arrangement of Rialto Ripples was performed by the Sac State Orchestra.

Music presents us with a unique opportunity to not only learn about other cultures, but to also take that knowledge and create a new musical language.  In our sessions, I will teach the basics, but I will also enable you to appreciate and even take inspiration from other musical cultures and incorporate them into your own.  These sessions will also cultivate your individual musicality and equip you with essential tools to share it!

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you as well as my love for music.
